CODE OF CONDUCT

This document contains principles and expectations of behavior that guide the decisions, procedures and systems of the Canadian Esthetic & Spa Association in a way that:

(a) contributes to the welfare of its key stakeholders, and 

(b) respects the rights of all constituents affected by its operations.

The Canadian Esthetic & Spa Association is herein referred to as CESA. Members in violation of any of these principals will be subject to cancellation of their membership.

Principle 1. Respect & Integrity 

Members are responsible for respecting the integrity and dignity of each and every CESA member. 

Members are committed to making the CESA a more inclusive organization based on mutual respect and appreciation for the diversity of the network. 

Principle 2. Representation of CESA

A member’s character and actions are a reflection of CESA’s reputation. A member is responsible for behaving in a manner that does not adversely affect the reputation of CESA.

A member is responsible for upholding the reputation of the esthetics and spa industry in Canada in their workplace behavior and professional image.

Members will refrain from soliciting in CESA-sponsored activities, or use contacts made as a result of their membership for the purposes of uninvited or unwanted solicitation outside of CESA-sponsored activities. 

Principle 3. Confidentiality 

A CESA member is responsible for providing accurate and honest information to CESA.

A member shall not share their CESA login information, passwords, privileged event access, online access codes, or links with others.

A CESA member shall not disclose information about other CESA members to nonmembers, outside agencies, or commercial enterprises in any form, e.g. written, electronic, social media, and verbal.

A CESA member shall not plagiarize CESA content and material, either written, electronic, or verbal.

A CESA member shall treat all personal communications to and from CESA, its Board of Directors, and other members as private and confidential.

Members have a right to: 

1. Be treated fairly, equally and with respect by CESA its Board of Directors and other members. 

2. Participate in CESA events without harassment and discrimination as defined by Federal and Provincial Acts.

3. Privacy and confidentiality concerning records, documentation and any other communication containing a member’s personal information, unless consent is provided.

4. Be informed and actively involved in all CESA events and offerings, if a member has not been deemed by CESA Board of Directors to be in breach of the aforementioned principles and expectations of behavior.
